Hi lovebug,

Last time we talked about how Oprah was the first person to teach me that when you’re off path in life, you’ll get three signals.

A whisper (that it’s time to change course), a tap on the shoulder (that says HEY—it’s really time to change course) and then a two by four to the face (you waited too long! Now you HAVE to change course).

You can read that post here if you missed it.

I see this happen in relationships a lot.

Women know (they KNOW) that they shouldn’t say yes to the proposal, but they do.

The voice whispers… “This isn’t right… you know it isn’t right.”

But they ignore the whisper and move forward.

Then the wedding day comes and their stomach turns at the thought of walking down the aisle.

Their intuition is tapping them on the shoulder with small, uncomfortable body signals…

The body insists… “This isn’t right… you know it isn’t right.”

But they ignore the body’s warning and they walk down the aisle.

One year into their marriage, things aren’t going well and they know it, but ignore that feeling.

They’re exhausted. They feel unhappy and uninspired. Marriage isn’t the blissful and secure life they thought it would be. Not with the man they married.

The body gives them the two by four.

Their intuition turns into physical ailments… skin rashes, shoulder pain, UTIs, sometimes something worse like an autoimmune condition or cancer.

And they become chronic conditions. Doctors shake their heads because the conditions won’t resolve.

It’s only when they finally wake up and listen to themselves—and leave— that things start to change.

They heal. They feel stronger. They’re happier.

And they’re not going to ignore their intuition again.

I need to make an important point here: The guy was not the problem.

The problem was that she KNEW that he wasn’t right for her and instead of trusting herself and breaking up with him, she dismissed herself over and over again.

She abandoned herself and chose to override her feelings.

The body can only do that for so long before it starts to get sick.

Whisper >> tap >> two by four.

People talk about intuition like it’s this mystical thing or a nice-to-have, but it’s actually a lifesaver.

(And time saver. And money saver. And the best alignment tool there is.)

When you’re tuned into yourself AND when you are courageous enough to DISCERN and CHOOSE what is really right for you… oh my gosh. Your life gets SO MUCH BETTER.

In every way.

So, if you’re reading this and seeing yourself in the tap or two by four stages of your relationship, be kind to yourself first. No shame or blame here, love.

And also, it’s time to take action.

If you’re getting the tap or the two by four, that means that you are out of alignment and everything in the Universe (your body, your guides, your soul) is trying to get you back into alignment.

So.
