Feeling disconnected? Here’s how to reconnect with your spirituality
May 04, 2026Hi lovebug,
I was talking with a client the other day and she had this feeling that something in her was blocking her connection to the Divine.
I sat there thinking about my own spiritual journey of the last 20 years. I never really felt blocked, per se, but I have had times where my connection with God, my guides, the Universe has felt less strong.
As an energy worker, I absolutely believe that we can have blocks, memories, beliefs and verbal echoes from the past that can keep us from a healthy relationship with a higher power.
But mostly, if you want to grow your spiritual connection, it comes down to a few things.
- Find a starting place. Do you want to connect with spirit guides? Do you want to study an ancient text? Do you want to connect spiritually through an organized religion? Do you feel the need to be around a spiritual community? Do you want to let your intuition guide you? Do you want to follow the path that a guru has laid out for you? What do you want? Figure that out first and go from there.
- Start listening to spiritual teachers. You can find so much wisdom online or at the library for no cost and, truly, the only thing you’ll be spending is time and energy to learn and grow. I’ve had so many teachers over the years. Some of them I knew personally and some of them I’ll never meet (because they’ve already passed on) or because I’ve learned from them through their books or online content. I am so grateful to all of my teachers and I know they have helped me along my journey, whether they know me or not.
- Start meditating. I will always come back to meditation when it comes to spiritual growth. I specifically suggest learning my meditation methods because I think they are accessible, enjoyable, doable and tailored specifically for your natural intuitive gifts. When you meditate, you begin to open up your receptivity to the Divine. Meditation, the way I teach it, will wildly improve your clairs (intuitive channels) and take away the middleman between you and Spirit. Check out my 30 day meditation course here.
- Weave spirituality into your daily life. Being connected spiritually is a way of life. It’s not something you can check off a list or achieve, but a noticing in everyday life. I see God everywhere: in the hummingbirds outside my window, in my nieces’ laughter, in a long hug with a friend, in the tears of a client when they’re working through something hard. God is there for me in the little moments of life. But that’s my experience. Yours may be entirely different and that’s so, so cool.
You get to decide what you want your spiritual connection to be like. You get to decide what it feels like to be connected spiritually. You get to author your experience.
Isn’t that grand?
If all of this sounds too overwhelming or too freaking much to handle right now, I’ll offer this: set the intention to be more connected spiritually and then just pay attention. See what emerges.
Wild and crazy things can happen when you open to the Divine. Be curious and wide-eyed about it all. That can be a beautiful place to begin. 💚
