The secret to building confidence one step at a time

getting unstuck goals Jul 02, 2026

Hi lovebug,

It’s time for today’s episode of…

YOU CAN’T FREAKING DO IT ALL AT ONCE.

(because you’re quietly breaking yourself when you try...)

What are we talking about today my dear friend?

That’s right… Tiny goals!

Why?

Because I have had one too many conversations this past week with friends, colleagues and clients about why they can’t possibly move forward with X because they absolutely MUST complete it all in one go and LO AND BEHOLD, - THERE IS NOT ENOUGH TIME TO DO IT ALL IN ONE GO -

… so then they do nothing.

I have done this so many times. I get it. It’s this insanely creative loophole that our brains create to keep us safe, but it actually makes us feel HORRIBLE instead.

So let’s break you out of it!

Do you know what I love?

Tiny things. Tiny ceramic vases. Tiny hats for teeny tiny figurine cats. Tiny stop motion shorts.

They are SO CUTE and light up something soft and squishy and bright in my brain.

*zinnnng!* <<< it’s lighting up right now just thinking tiny

I also love tiny goals! Not because they do that to my brain, but because they do something equally as spectacular.

They build confidence.

When I taught Zumba back in the day, I told new folks just to get themselves to class. Just get to class and I would handle the rest.

That one tiny goal worked incredibly well. People had life changing experiences just keeping that one promise to themselves. They lost weight, got stronger, made friends, healed emotionally - just by showing up again and again and again.

When people start setting their own goals, it’s a different story.

They will say: I have to figure out my entire marketing plan TOMORROW and I have a dentist appointment and I have to drive the kids to camp and then there’s dinner with my in-laws and I just don’t think I’ll have bandwidth to do it so I have to put it off.  I just don’t have time.

When I mention working on it for an hour, they say: Ugh. That’s not going to get me anywhere.

Now this usually only happens with projects that feel emotionally loaded in some way. I believe that the mind and body are FREAKING OUT about the thing and so the person reasons that they can either avoid it or deal with it all at once, like swallowing one HUGE pill, and then either way they won’t have to feel their feelings.

The truth is that the uncomfortable feelings will be there while you’re avoiding the project and the uncomfortable feelings will also probably be there once you start on the project. It’s not comfy.

The KEY to handling the feelings side of things is tiny goals. There are so many good things that come out of tiny goals - so many things in fact, that I’m going to get into it more next week.

In the meantime, If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed with life and you simply don’t have time for any healing but you could really use some help, my done-for-you package is ideal for you.

I clear trapped emotions for you once a week while you are out there living your life. And, wow, it works. It might be my most favorite package. You can check it out here. Here’s a text I got just last week from a long time client doing her first done-for-you package.

Let’s get you going on your healing journey without all the time spent in sessions. I’ve got two slots open.

Until next week,

Rebecca*
