Hi lovebug,

Have you ever watched the The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel?

It’s a hilarious period drama from the 50-60s that came out on Prime in 2017 and ran for five seasons.

It was based on the rise to stardom of the comedian Joan Rivers.

The show is about this woman, Midge Maisel, who accidentally becomes a comic and all of the ups and downs, personally and professionally, she goes through to try and become a star.

I loved this show. It’s beautifully acted, directed, and designed. The script is *chef’s kiss.” I laugh OUT LOUD every single episode and almost always smile at the characters.

It’s won award after award. It’s just GOOD. And worth watching.

Now Midge and her mama are very fashion forward. They have the dresses, the shoes, the hats – all matching - and rarely worn twice.

In one episode, Midge puts on a dress, goes in to show her mama what she’s wearing and asks, “Does this look okay?”

Her mama, without looking up from what she’s doing, says, non-chalantly… “If you have to ask…”

Midge nods and goes back to change her outfit.

I bring this up because I’ve been talking a lot about relationships on my Instagram account lately. If you want to check out what I’ve been sharing, you can follow me here. (Then DM me so I can follow you back!)

I talk a lot about leaving a relationship that isn’t working for you.

I often get DMs or comments from women saying, “My partner is doing XYZ and I’m unhappy/stressed/miserable… do you think I should leave?”

I feel like Midge’s mama at that moment… “If you have to ask… “

If you’re asking if the relationship isn’t a fit for you, it’s probably not a fit for you - and you know it.

Why do we ask for someone else’s opinion when we likely already know the answer?

Probably a myriad of reasons.

We’re insecure. We’re scared. We don’t trust ourselves. We want a vote of confidence. We don’t want to make our own decisions. We’re afraid of our own power. We want to be wrong. We’re used to ignoring ourselves and trusting others. We’re trying to grow and we’re not sure what growth looks like yet. We have trauma… and that’s just naming a few reasons off of the top of my head.

AND—even if we put on an outfit and someone says it looks great, we might still go change into something else. Because, ultimately, what we wear, what we do and who we choose to partner with is OUR decision.

You can remember this phrase… “If you have to ask…” you probably already know your answer.

One of the ways I love women step into their own power is by clearing out the trapped emotions that make them feel doubtful, insecure, and/or guilty.

As you clear out the old, unprocessed energy, you make room for clarity to come in.

You can do this in one of two ways:

  1. If you want 1:1 personalized coaching, if you want someone to walk with you through your next steps, if you’re committed to the next version of yourself and your relationships, check out the Emotion Code® packages here.
  2. If you want the trapped emotion clearing without having to spend 55 minutes in a session every week, and if you have a specific topic you need help clearing, check out the Done-For-You Emotion Code® package here.

You’re not alone on your journey. I’m excited to walk with you as you heal, change and grow.
