The real help therapists need right now
Jul 28, 2025
Hello lovebug,
I’ve always felt like therapists were the emotional heavy lifters of our society.
When I don’t know what to say to one of my friends I often say, “Have you talked to your therapist about this?”
Since therapy has become more mainstream and more people have been seeking emotional support to work on themselves, I feel like therapists have been put into a position of being THE unconditional love, support, care, guidance and holder-of-secrets.
Talk about a huge responsibility.
Since the pandemic, expectations have only grown for therapists. It seems, almost all at once, that there aren't enough therapists or enough experienced therapists to meet the demand of people who are suffering.
It’s been a LOT.
Add in the frustrations with our maddening healthcare system, licensure requirements, and all of the ridiculous hoops insurance companies ask therapists to jump through, and it’s amazing that we have therapists at all.
It’s also not surprising that therapists, in my opinion, are some of the people in need of the most support.
Therapists need their own therapy and massages and acupuncture and quiet time and restorative yoga and solid sleep and nutritious food and sound healing because my God they are carrying so much.
But the number one thing I think therapists need? Energy work—specifically the Emotion Code®.
I find that most therapists are incredibly empathic, energy sensitive and intuitive.
For that reason, I find that their systems can get overloaded over time and no amount of talking it out can reset their energy system.
Most of the therapists I know are brilliant at taking care of everyone else while ignoring their own needs.
I’ve had many of them tell me that they also know how to evade hard questions with their own therapists.
Therapists are usually natural givers and helpers. They’re not only giving and helping at work, but at home, with friends, and sometimes randomly with strangers.
It’s neverending.
Therapists need to be seen and heard and held just like everyone else, but that can feel so wildly uncomfortable and vulnerable because they’re used to being the one who does all the holding.
The Emotion Code® sidesteps all of that.
Because this energy work is a communication with the subconscious mind and not with the conscious mind, it’s always surprising and amazing what comes forth to be healed.
Often we’re working on memories that the therapist has never thought to bring up to discuss with their therapist.
Therapists need healing so that they can continue to do the work they love especially right now when we need therapists more than ever.
Or - so they can decide to pursue something else that lights them up.
Whichever direction, therapists have been carrying enough for long enough.
If you’re a therapist, I’d love to offer an Emotion Code® clearing of five emotions for free.
This offer is only available for current practicing therapists or counselors.
You can sign up for your free session here.
We’ve got to keep taking care of one another.
Right?
Yes.
Hugs,
Rebecca*
PS: Would you do me a favor? Would you forward this email to your favorite therapist? I appreciate you. 🙂
